2014年8月30日 · Trangia burners were designed to burn methanol (in Swedish "rotspirit", in England "meths" or "methylated spirit"). It is easily available in Europe, but the easiest source in the US is yellow HEET. As far as toxicity is concerned, don't drink it, try not to spill it on your skin, and burn it in a well ventilated space and you will be fine.

2017年10月14日 · As for toxicity, yes in enclosed areas. For that matter propane/butane is toxic if used in an enclosed area. The denatured alcohol is wood alcohol based and/or additives added to make it unpalatable in order to avoid liquor tax. Drinking HEET, drinking denatured alcohol, drinking rubbing alcohol, (for that matter drinking lighter fluid) is toxic.
