2015年5月1日 · Huh this is very interesting to me, I have also always used "hehe" my whole life but have always pronounced it like [hi hi]. Which leads me to a curious thing. I'm from the US and studied in Germany for a while and noticed an overwhelming amount of people ages 50 and younger used "hihi" (orthographically) and also pronounced [hi hi].

2011年5月27日 · But hehe is the pinyin (official romanization, for those who don't know) for 呵呵. I understand that you are talking about the sound as English speakers would read "hehe," which is different, but you should probably clarify that. I also wouldn't really say 呵呵 sounds like "hoho"—at least not how I read "hoho."
