HELLMARI is a mysterious character and NPC in OMORI. She is a demonic-looking version of MARI, which symbolizes how SUNNY remembers and thinks MARI is that OMORI and SUNNY frequently encounter throughout the game. There are three versions of HELLMARI that appear in different locations throughout OMORI.

Hellmari is a distorted version of Mari who haunts Sunny during the course of OMORI. Hellmari's appearance changes depending on the area she is found in, but she generally resembles a ghastly version of Mari, with a large, gaping mouth and completely empty eye-sockets. Her head is twisted at an unnatural angle, suggesting that her neck was snapped.

There's actually a cut content scene where Hell-Mari would appear in place of Kel on day 2, only for Sunny to blink and reappear back in his room while Kel knocks at the door. It was probably cut for overusing her, but it would have been very effective at making even more people go down the Hikkomori route.

First off, we will not be opening the door for Mari on night 0. Believe it or not, that's an actual major choice! Opening the door for Mari is what causes all those Hell Maris to appear and torment Sunny. So if we don't open the door, no Hell Maris! Problem solved! This cuts out quite a few jumpscares out of the picture, though not all of them...
