The Chrysler Hemi-6 engine is a family of inline six-cylinder petrol engines produced by Chrysler Australia in three piston displacements and multiple configurations. [1] Hemi-6 engines were installed in Australian-market Chrysler Valiants from 1970 through 1981.

The first version of the 265 “Six Pack,” the E37, was rated at 248 horsepower and 305 pound-feet, with 9.7:1 compression. The concurrent E38 version increased compression to 10.0:1, resulting in 280 hp and 310 lb-ft.

2022年2月14日 · With a pump 98 unleaded tune tapped into the Holley Terminator X ECU, the six-in-a-row showed its go with 420hp at 6600rpm on the engine dyno at Dandy, holding that power all the way to 7000rpm. It also made a peak torque of 386lb-ft at 4100rpm through the split-branch tri-Y manifolds.

2013年4月22日 · The Hemi Six Pack is an Australian Chrysler engine. Actually one of the fastest production car ever made in Australia was powered by the Hemi Six Pack. It was a straight six engine with 3 two barrel carburetors that displaced 265 cubes.

There was the Hemi, a 426 cubic inch fire-breather (and its 1950s hemi-head predecessors); and there were Six-Packs, but only on 340s and 440s. The Australian Hemi did not need eight cylinders. With its six hemispherical-head cylinders fed by triple Weber carbs, it easily outdistanced even Chrysler's own 340 and 360 V-8s.

So there was indeed a Hemi Six-Pack - but it had six cylinders, not eight. While in America the road and track were ruled by 426 Hemi and 440 Six-Pack V8s, in Australia, the Valiant Charger Hemi Six-Pack set records that were not matched for decades - using that straight-six engine, never available in North America.
