Morcar/Zargon's Elite guard, the DoomGuard is a special squad of Chaos Warriors that protects the Evil Wizard. DoomGuards only need to roll one black shield to block all hits made by a single attacker. You can use Chaos Warrior minis for DoomGuards.

Information about the characters, monsters, spells, potions, artifacts, weapons, armor and tools in HeroQuest. The four heroes in HeroQuest are Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf and Wizard. The Barbarian is the greatest warrior of all. But beware of magic, for your sword is no defense against it. The Elf is a master of both magic and the sword.

My group went the route of the Doomguard. Then then came down and found the stairway, decided not to leave and explore the rest of the board. They found Kessandria by entering through her secret door.
