The “Spirit of Louisiana” is the 21st and last B-2 Spirit built, having entered service in November of 1997. She was only one of two Spirit flying wings delivered by Northrop Grumman from the start as a Block 30 aircraft with enhanced avionics and systems, including a more advanced radar and the capability to carry additional weapon systems.

The 509th Bomb Wing, the sole operator of the stealth bomber, is divided into four branches, including the 509th Maintenance, Mission Support, Medical, and Operations Groups. This last Group is the flying component of the Wing.
