But in my memory the HEV MK. I was a clunky, impracticel brick, that impared the wearers mobility significantly and also relied on an external power supply. MK. II was a significant improovement in everything but still needed a tether. MK. III was basically MK. II with internal powersuply MK. IV was MK.

2021年9月4日 · I think this is pretty spot on for what the Mk. 1 would've looked like. I agree with you that the H.E.V. suit is essentially a high tech hazmat suit (it literally stands for Hazardous En-Vironments suit [good lord Black Mesa]), so it makes a lot of sense that the first version would be really similar to a regular hazmat suit, but with some small tech bits added on.

Mark V was made in a post apocalyptic time when getting resources was harder, so of course it'd be simpler looking, the HEV mark IV was made when Black Mesa had a much higher budget to the point where they had a bunch of these HEV suits out there, in Xen, and on Gina and Colette.

The Half-Life 1 HEV suit is the mark 4 model. It had better battery and protects Gordon from Xen. But in hl2 Gordon didn’t have an HEV suit so Kleiner makes the HEV mark 5 . Although there is still the mystery of why Gordon just wanders around with no headgear (apparently) even though in Black Mesa a scientist mentions that for the MK.4, the Helmet is optional, which would sugest the suit compensates the lack of protection in the head. Although In any case, I prefer the old style HEV.
