Center post | Build your own Hex Beam
The center post of the beam is seated in the baseplate flange and serves two functions. First, it serves as a terminal for all the driver wires to be fed by the coaxial cable and secondly, it provides an anchor point at the top for all the radial support cords that bow the spreader arms into the inverted umbrella shape.
Center post detail – KIO Technology
In the case of the KIO hex beam center post, this characteristic impedance is about 50 ohms. Since the hexbeam itself has a resonant impedance that luckily is close to 50 ohms, the center post is 50 ohms and your feedline is 50 ohms, the radio …
Center Post – KIO Technology
The KIO Hexbeam features a very strong center post made of 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum providing a good match for the driver elements of the hexbeam. Terminal insulators are made of teflon with a teflon insulated coax connector.
Hex Beam (N2RIT)Center Post
Center Post. Preparing the center post for all feed line and driven element connections. If you are building a 5 band Hex Beam you will need to drill 10 holes 1" inch apart. I used 1" 8/32 brass screws, nuts and washers for the terminal connections.

and is constructed of six fiberglass tubes and 14 or 16 gauge stranded copper wire. The center post is a five foot piece of fiberglass or PVC. The beam is fed at the top of the center post with 50 ohm coax and weighs about 25 pounds. The hexagonal beam consists of two elements fo

Center Post There are several options for the center post of a Hexbeam. Many people use a PVC pipe. Sometimes people who build multi-band homebrew Hexbeams put their feedline inside the pipe and use brass bolts through the pipe to connect to the …
KIO Technology
Get the Premium Quality hexbeam that performs nearly on par with a full scale two element Yagi with low SWR across all bands. The beam is available in various combinations from one to six bands and all operate with a single feed line. No traps or special resonance devices are needed. and move to a new level of great DX!

2017年5月28日 · I am working on building a home-brew hex beam and this looks far more weather resistant than previous ideas for wiring the center post. How did you attach the air coax post assembly to the 50 ohm coax feedline?
We start with Kevlar line with S-hook should be fixed in the center post in closed loop. After 6 lines have been fixed in the center post, fasten lines around the perimeter - one to the other - in clockwise direction.
Assembly | Build your own Hex Beam
Center post. Insert the center post into the top flange on the base plate. Twist it so that the terminals are facing out from the middle between any two spreader arms. This will be the front of the beam and the two spreader arms will be designated #1 and #6 counting clockwise. Tighten the set screws on the flange to secure the center post.
