A hexapede (Na'vi name: yerik) is a land herbivore that resides in various biomes of Pandora, including rainforests, savanna, subarctic tundra, and mountainous regions. Hexapedes are some of the most beautiful and fragile creatures of Pandora.

Traditionally, the hexapede is the first animal that a would-be Na’vi warrior is allowed to kill, marking their transition from child to adult. This beautiful, docile herbivore has some natural defenses, such as highly attuned senses, but few strategies to ward off predators.
