The HGU-68/P is a lightweight combat proven helmet. It is designed to meet the rigorous requirements in today's high-G environment of the Navy and Marine Corps F-18 Super Hornet. The single track visor system on the HGU-68/P provides the lowest possible profile and meets the Navy's 600 knot requirements.

The Navy's replacement for the HGU-55/P came in the form of the HGU-68/P. Introduced in the mid-1990s, this helmet is now given out to new Naval aviators in training. The 68/P comes in either standard or Combat Edge.

2023年10月3日 · I recently bought this HGU-68/P with a MBU-17/P. I've spent some hours trying to find a helmet with a similar tape job like this one to figure out the aircraft and squadron it was used in. The helmet was made in 2006, but I'm unsure about when the oxygen mask was made.

2020年5月12日 · He brought it in on Monday and to my surprise it was a really nice helmet. It turned out to be a 1998 Gentex US Navy HGU-68/P in great condition with an unused MBU-5/P oxygen mask. All I know about it is that my friend´s brother was working with the NoAF (Norwegian Air Force) and brought it home one day, I have no idea why it is in Norway.
