The ProSoft ® series of Hi-VNI ® nasal cannulas offers a soft, safe, and reliable alternative for a wide patient acuity range. Unlike commodity high flow oxygen devices (HFNC), Vapotherm ® high velocity therapy is indicated for use with respiratory distress patients, including high acuity hypercapnic patients.

Hi-VNI is a system for high flow humidified respiratory therapy by a ® Vapotherm approved interface. It incorporates the Vapotherm core humidification technology with an electronic blender and flow controller. The water and gas pathways are both incorporated into a removable, disposable patient circuit.

The easiest way to describe it is that high velocity therapy is Mask-Free NIV ®, and offers ventilatory support for patients in respiratory distress, including hypercapnia, hypoxemia, dyspnea, respiratory distress secondary to other medical conditions. Meanwhile commodity high flow oxygen products provide oxygenation support.

Hi-VNI Technology is a de-escalation therapy. It is safe to start with highest flows based on weight, and titrate down to clinical response (decreased WOB). Only Vapotherm Hi-VNI cannulae should be used with the Vapotherm Precision Flow®. Select the appropriate Hi-VNI cannula based on the above sizing chart.
