Starting from Okuma, you are looking at a steady climb from about a 9%-14% grade. It is about 5km from the Okuma Resort, and then the trails go on for many more miles. If you want, you can drive to the Kunigami Forest parking area. There is a visitor and nature center, bathrooms, and vending machines.
