In 1880 the Meiji Emperor graciously received President Ulysses Grant as a state guest.

He cultivated a stern, unsmiling, and god-like image, since, in the Shinto religion, the Emperor was thought to have descended from the Sun-Goddess.

2011年2月1日 · He was actually a stock horse that was purchased in the United States in California. The International News Service reported that Emperor Hirohito made 344 appearances on Shirayuki. He was retired in 1942 and died in 1947 at the age of 27. Hatsushimo wasn’t even the Arabian that the Emperor was later seen riding.
