I mitten av mars 2013 baserades en svensk enhet (ICEPAC) med fyra hkp 16 på Camp Marmal i norra Afghanistan. Sedan början av april samma år har de stått i MEDEVAC-beredskap vid sidan av en tysk ( NH90 ) respektive amerikansk (Dustoff, HH-60L) enhet.

Helikopter 16 (Hkp 16) eller UH-60M Black Hawk är en amerikansk transporthelikopter främst för trupp,sjukvård och materieltransport både i kabinen och hängande. Det är ett beprövat helikoptersystem som varit i tjänst hos US Army sedan 1979 och över 4000 exemplar är tillverkade av Sikorsky.

2012年6月2日 · In 2011 Sweden has the purchase of 15 UH-60M Black Hawk via an US Army FMS (Foreign Military Sale) program. Known as the Hkp (Helikopter) 16, they will fill the gap between the retirement of the Hkp4 (CH-46) and the fully deployment of the Hkp 14 (NH-90). The delivery plan will enable Sweden to deploy three of them to Afghanistan in April 2013.
