2017年11月12日 · Hog ringers were invented to pierce the tender edges of a hogs snout or nose to discourage swine from rooting out of their pen. I guess that makes Hog Ringers organic (they are organic in a metallic sense) and sustainable as well. Just be sure that the hog ring pliers and the hog ringers are of comparable size.

2015年3月10日 · Agreed to an extent. So many videos on Youtube showing folks using hog rings. I couldn't find any that size so I just used wire. It was a PITA, but I did over do it. If there are hog rings out there that would work, it would be great.

2018年2月7日 · But now we need to attach the hardware cloth (1/2" 19g) to the cage, and we are thinking of using hog rings. But my question is, what size hog rings? I'll attach a pic of the runs we have below. We are thinking of using the hog rings in ADDITION to zip ties on the rest of the cage, since zip ties don't last forever. Also what pliers are best?

2012年2月16日 · The cattle panels are 4 awg which is about .207 inches thick and the 14 awg wire is about .064" thick. So together about .292. The smallest hog ring has a gap of .375 or 3/8 inches. This would leave about .083 inch over size. But that would be fine for the aprons. Is it just about as easy to user regular pliers for hog rings?

2008年3月29日 · Had to line the inside with chicken wire to keep hens in, predators out. Found a neat way to attach the wire to the panels.....hog rings! A box of 100 is about 2 bucks, and you have to get the hog-ring pliers, but well worth it! Makes it easy to stretch the chicken wire tight, straight, and is way faster than wire, or bundle ties.

2018年6月17日 · I wasn't looking forward to manually loading hog rings one at a time when building my run. Seen this at my local Tractor supply. Comes with 1000 rings for $34. You load the sleeve of rings and each squeeze results in a nice tight ring.

2022年5月29日 · 3/8 inch hog rings (and their special pliers) are easier to crimp than the J clips. Both will work with 1/2" hardware cloth but neither will work with 1/4" HC. You can find galvanized and stainless 3/8" hog rings. Galvanized is softer metal and easier to crimp. Stainless will not corrode but the galvanized will probably outlast the HC..
