I've used it for a couple years and it worked great but got concerned when I read how bad it supposedly was on aluminum. The Works is $1 at the dollar store, Toon Brite is 10+ times that at the marine store.

No one should ever attempt to clean a carb without compressed air, it is so necessary to get the little passages clean and maybe a torch tip cleaner for the tough ones. That is if want real clean.

2012年10月23日 · I put starbrite aluminum cleaner in a garden sprayer and then used the wand to spray the cleaner on the toons. I only did a section at a time, giving the cleaner time to work, and then came back with the power washer and rinsed off all the cleaner and the gunk. Using the green tip on the power wahser pretty much took everything off.

I didn't use Sharkhide polish, I used 'Blue Magic' in a toothpaste sized tube and a 6" sander/polisher. I used only the 1 tube. I did use the Sharkhide protectant and can say that the 1 qt will be plenty.

After cleaning, your best to polish the hulls. I researched the auto detailing websites closely about aluminum polishing. I got a Porter Cable dual action (D/A) polisher/sander and a 6" wool bonnet.

I just looked at the transom on my 14' Lund. It is a very well built transom. I feel confident that my extension will work fine. I will just have to wait til spring to find out.
