"Honda Ultra U" seems to be a low doped, rather thin, engine oil 10W30, API SJ. So, I think your choice for an SAE30 is not a bad choice, especially when you are in the middle of nowhere...

I have found some references to other Honda tractor models using SAE 10W30 engine oil with API classifications of SE, CC, or CD, but NOT to use Honda Hydrostatic fluid. In any case I can't find a source here in the UK for Honda Hydrostatic fluid. Any advice would be gratefully received.

2009年8月10日 · The Castrol has a pour point of -39C. Also from my experience using the Castrol oil in an air cooled lawn mower, the oil is a deeper amber color than the Honda hydrostatic fluid. The price difference between the two products was not enough for me to make the gamble. The Honda fluid can be found for about $6 per quart.

Fill with Honda HST fluid (maximum capacity is about 5 quarts, but can't say how many will be needed just to drain and fill, probably less). Unless you disassemble the transmission, no bleeding is necessary. Bleeding is done on a bench, with the trans out of the frame. - - -

2018年8月3日 · You'll see the transmission sitting pretty far back, there should be a black plastic fill cap/dipstick on the top of the transmission. Clean the area of grass clippings (an old tooth brush and 409 work great) before removing cap, use only Honda hydrostatic fluid to top off. I don't believe there is a drain plug for the transmission.
