2018年3月31日 · This siren, along with 4 other Super Sirex's would serve as Chicago's air raid warning system for the cold war. 30 years later (a bit more than 30 years), Chicago's sirens began to malfunction. Sadly, Chicago removed almost all of it's cold war sirens, including the 5 H.O.R super sirex's. But there is one thing that is left.

2012年3月7日 · This HOR was visible from the ground, and mounted atop Grainger Hall on the eastern end of the UW campus. After it was replaced by the 2001, Grainger Hall was torn down and rebuilt, and the 2001 was permanently moved westward to a more central campus location at Chamberlain Hall.

2013年8月8日 · I always liked the classic 10/12 ratio, the minor third like on the 2T22 and castle castings siren, but my favorite is probably 9/12, the perfect fourth. It's used on many ACA sirens, like the allertor and cyclone. I also like the 7/10 tritone, because it's the scariest one but it's only used on the HOR super sirex.

2019年8月18日 · There were 7/10 port dual head Super Sirex models. There is (was?) a video taken at an auction in Phoenix AZ up on youtube. I don't know where it is but there was a dual head sirex that looked like it was 7/10 port. In addition to that, I have heard that there were also 8/8 port single tone Super Sirex's and maybe 12/12 models too.

2018年8月1日 · Nice to see another recording of that HOR. My Favorite Sirens are the Sentry 16V1T-B, T-128, Thunderbolt 1000/1000T, ACA Banshee, STH-10, 3T22, Model 5/7, The Sentry 40V2T, The WPS-4004, And the Federal Signal 2001-130.

2007年11月24日 · The 5hp differed. It had two vanes with a skinny bottom. NYC had hundreds of these - mounted on streetlamps, poles, schools, fire houses, elevated subway stations, tall buildings. They also had some Super Sirex that they used on top of schools and tall buildings. These were dual-head like Sterling but larger and were dual-tone like Carters UK.
