2011年8月18日 · These logs bascially contain a chemical compound designed to turn Stage 3 creosote into something more brittle and brushable. They have their place, if you have a lot of buildup, but they are not a substitute for dry wood, proper burning habits, and proper manual flue cleanings. No beating up here, BTW. ;-)

A: It isn't really the logs that are supposed to do anything, it is the chemicals they're impregnated with, and chemical products that claim to clean or assist in cleaning chimneys are nothing new. In fact, there are actually some chemical products that are used by professional Chimney Sweeps in conjunction with mechanical cleanings.

I buy two logs a year (@ $2.49 each )and cut them up into 1/2"- 3/4" slices and then take the slice and break it into 4 peices. 2 logs will last me all year for my house stove and the garage stove. i take 2 of the 1/4" peices and start the fire.

2017年1月16日 · Should have mentioned above that I do not use any of the referred to as large '' Overnight logs or bricks '' those probably burn 3-4 hours possibly more, the 2&1/2'' to 3'' logs that I have always used never last more than 1 - 1.5 hours max. no matter what brand I have tried, the longest burning are the ones I presently have on hand.
