2010年10月11日 · If you have a hydraulic splitter it doesn't matter! We cut the wood in winter, split in spring and stack immediately after splitting is done. Then we leave it alone and let time and Mother Nature do her thing with the drying. On the elm, correct that it does not split well when green. Nasty stuff it can be. Don't even cut it when it is green.

2011年1月14日 · Take a pallat and attatch a piced of wood to the back end of it so it's a few inches above the palat. put a gate hing on that wood and a 3 or 4 foot section of 2x4 so that it comes toward the front when you lower it. Place the wood under the 2/x4 and step on the 2x4 and cut away. That way your foot isn't anywhere near the wood.

2009年12月13日 · Normal firebrick is easy to cut with a "masonry" blade on a skil saw. Soak it for a minute first- helps with dust. A wetsaw can also be used. A cold chisel can be used- score each corner, then each face, then a sharp strike- but ti will never be clean or accurate as a saw cut. Believe me- I've cut a few fire bricks (broken image removed)
