2022年11月30日 · Mid-Missouri Zone 6A We also have clay loam soil. We raise Kennebec white potatoes and Beauregard sweet potatoes. We have always planted potatoes in rows, just like corn. And like corn, potatoes suck up a lot of fertilizer. I add about a pound of 13-13-13 to 25 foot row when planting. Then 3-4 weeks side dress with a pound of urea between each row.

2021年3月29日 · Put my potatoes in late Feb. 4" of straw on top, also put sprouted potatoes with them. At the present, I have no visible plants. We did get snow a couple of times this month. in the 70's now. Last year I planted in may and did not get a crop due to the hot summer and gophers. I've trapped 4 gophers in the garden so far.

2025年1月29日 · I have pressure canned potatoes from our garden, in pints, just for the convenience you mentioned. I do the water pack method (there are some who swear by the dry canned method but this isn't a "approved" method). The home pc'd potatoes don't last very long, the texture changes after about 18 months in storage.
