2021年8月6日 · Cut the center of the bolt catch with a X. Then drill through the X until you can get access to the roll pin. Use a small screw driver or punch to pry the roll pin left to right to push the pin out. Remove bolt catch. Use pliers to grab/pinch the roll pin and work it out. Or small vice grips and tap the end to drive out the roll pin.

2021年5月7日 · Turn the open end of the unwanted pin facing downward, and rasp against wood forcefully block until it falls out. Thread a small tap into the end of the rollpin and use vise grips to pull. Definitely soak it in oil first. You can try to use a drill bit/tap to catch the inside of the roll pin and pull it out that way.

2016年10月19日 · Clamp your receiver down on your bench (and those plastic jaw "quick action" clamps at Harbor Freight are perfect) with the bolt catch upper most (the receiver is lying on it's side). Hold your tool with some needle nose pliers against the front (forward) hole of the bolt catch extrusion, and tap out the old pin using a brass or plastic hammer.

2022年12月8日 · Buy a cheap set of punches and a hammer, remove old bolt catch, install new bolt catch. Go to harbor freight/autozone or any hardware store and buy a punch set. You don't need a roll pin punch set specifically, but they are a bit easier to use on roll pins.

2016年6月22日 · Does anyone else have a receiver with this design and are there any ideas for how to remove the pin without ruining everything? I think it is threaded in. Real small Allen wrench. Something like this might help. I know how small that roll pin must be, but I am not certain one of these tools will be small enough for the job.

2011年9月21日 · If you pinched one end of the pin to ease getting it started when you installed you'll want to remove it in the opposite direction. Pinching one end can make the opposite end fatten, so to speak. If you combine that with a particularly tight hole or the pin being driven in slightly off center I would imagine running into the problems you describe.
