Each HUM 2020 course focuses on a special topic determined by the instructor within the broad scope of the humanities and can be narrow in theme, historical period, or region.

HUM 2020 Introduction to the Humanities will introduce students to the ways that the Humanities shape and are shaped by the human experience. This course approaches ‘Humanities’ as cultural expression that includes, but is not limited to: visual arts, performance art, literature, music, philosophy, film & cinema, theory, and religion.

In this course, students will learn about the creative ideas and accomplishments of various cultures in various fields of humanities that may include art, architecture, drama, history, music, literature, philosophy, and religion.
