The Sedena Henschel HWK-11 was a joint project between the Mexican Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA) and Henschel Wehrtechnik GmbH of West Germany.

The NIMDA company of Israel has modernised a single example of the HWK 11 APC with the original petrol power pack replaced by a new one consisting of a Model 6V-53 Detroit Diesel developing 210 hp coupled to an Allison Transmission TX-100 automatic transmission. This gives the HWK 11 a maximum speed of 60 km/h and a maximum range of 400 km.

2018年9月16日 · There where numerous variations drawn up including the HWK 12, a light tank/tank destroyer variant similar to the Sp Pz 1C. However, the only vehicle actually was produced and pressed into service was the HWK 11 basic apc configuration. They overwent numerous upgrades into the 1980s with the last variant being a semi IFV with a turret.

In 1980, the Israeli company NIMDA upgraded Mexico’s HWK-11s, giving them a turret similar to the French Toucan II but with heavier armor. Appliqué armor was also added to the hull itself. The original engines were replaced with the same as fitted to US M-113A2, Detroit Diesel 6V53s with an output of 212 horsepower.

The picture is clearly of the small turret 20mm cannon version, though it is captioned by the arrow as having a 90mm recoilless rifle. Has anyone a picture of the 90mm variant, please? Date in the 1950s I think.

2025年1月22日 · APC version. Developed as a joint project between the Mexican Ministry of Defense and Henschel, a prototype was produced in 1963, and 40 units were exported to Mexico. Henschel Corporation led the development, and the Mexican Ministry of Defense submitted requirements and partially participated in the development.
