Changes to support for Global Mirror with Change Volumes - IBM
The Global Mirror with Change Volumes (GMCV) replication periodically uses FlashCopy to establish a new set of data to replicate. Establishing that set of data takes a finite length of time, during which new IO to the volumes is delayed.
Global mirror feature on - PowerVC PowerVC version 2.1.0 - IBM
Starting PowerVC version 2.1.0, you can register and manage GMCV volumes by using PowerVC GUI or API. Alternatively, you can use registered Global Mirror Storwize to manage GMCV volumes.
Spectrum Virtualize – Replication - expand a volume - IBM
2024年1月17日 · If you're running Global Mirror with Change Volumes (GMCV), and running code 7.8.1 or newer, you must first convert the remote copy relationship to Global Mirror, expand as per above, and convert back to GMCV.
PowerVC - IBM Storwize GMCV Registration with Parent and …
2023年3月14日 · With PowerVC 2.1.0, we have enabled IBM Storwize Global Mirror Change Volumes (GMCV) Registration using the IBM PowerVC GUI along with the option of specifying source and targetchild pools on the Primary and Secondary storage controllers respectively, that are involved in a global mirror relationship for storing the change volumes.
Can someone explain the "Change Volume" feature? - IBM
2022年4月1日 · Change Volumes are optional for MM and GM, but mandatory for GMCV. Change Volumes are FlashCopy snapshots that are targets of the primary and secondary replicated volumes (so a FlashCopy on both sides of the replication relationship)
Spectrum Virtualize: Asynchronous Replication ( Global Mirror)
2016年3月28日 · IBM Spectrum Virtualize supports two types of asynchronous remote replication methodologies. Global Mirror Native; Global Mirror with Changed Volumes; It can be confusing for the customers to understand which one to adapt in which scenarios.
SVC, Storwize Global Mirror with Change Volume support
2019年12月20日 · Global Mirror with Change Volumes (GMCV) is a new function available for San Volume Controller and the Storwize storage servers. PowerHA support of Global Mirror with Change Volumes requires PTFs for 7.1 or 7.2 (see table for PTF numbers). The SVC/Storwize release required is at least 6.4.1.
Storage controllers are pre-configured to use GMCV replications. GRS provides replication at the storage level by making use of IBM FlashSystem Global Mirror Change volume (GMCV) asynchronous replication technology.
Policy-based replication is replacing Remote Copy (Metro Mirror ... - IBM
Policy-based replication, first released in Storage Virtualize 8.5.2, provides asynchronous replication between two storage systems. It significantly simplifies configuring and managing replication through the use of replication policies and volume groups with simple reporting of the replication status and recovery point.
