Abhay (Sanskrit: अभय, "Fearless") is an Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV) being developed in India by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Abhay is being developed as a technology demonstrator for replacing Indian Army BMP-2s.

In mid-2005 it was stated that two prototypes of the Abhay Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV) were undergoing trials with the Indian Army. The vehicle has been developed under the leadership of the Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) and it is believed that development of the Abhay commenced in the early 1990s.

2023年3月15日 · The Indian military announced plans to deploy the Abhay ICV in 2027 by 2020. Abhay works as a pre-technology demonstrator, developing and testing technologies that will be used on a futuristic ICV (FICV), which will replace the Indian Army’s BMP-2 vehicles.

Abhay ICV has taken best of BMP and western equipment and will be designed for increased firepower. Abhay features an all-electrical turret drive system and a 40mm high-velocity cannon capable of firing APFSDS and HE rounds. The anti-air firing range of the 40mm cannon is 4 km and 2.5 km for ground attack.

ARDE has completed the task of design, development and integration of Armament system for ABHAY, a 20T class futuristic Infantry Combat Vehicle under development by DRDO labs. Turret of the ICV is equipped with three types of armaments namely 40-mm main Gun, 7.62-mm PKT co-axial Gun and Automatic Grenade Launcher AGL-17.
