ICE 4 is a brand name for long-distance Intercity-Express high-speed trains being procured for Deutsche Bahn. Procurement started around 2008 for replacements for locomotive-hauled InterCity and EuroCity train services, and was later expanded to include replacements for ICE 1 and ICE 2 high-speed trainsets.

2015年9月25日 · The trials with a 12-car ICx set will start at 160km/h and the speed will gradually be increased to the train's maximum design speed of 250km/h. DB Systemtechnik will test the functioning of the bogies and the interaction of their wheels with the rails, as well as the performance of the pantograph and its interaction with the catenary.

2011年5月9日 · The 8 000-page framework contract envisages a firm order for 130 ICx trainsets which will be confirmed ‘immediately’, plus a further 90 sets to follow; the order value for the 220-train deal is put at ‘around €6bn’. DB also has an option to order another 80 sets ‘at any time’ during the validity of the framework contract, which runs to 2030.

ICx is a Deutsche Bahn project to procure up to 300 inter-city trains to replace its existing fleets used on long-distance passenger services in Germany. The first ICx electric multiple unit train sets will replace Intercity/Eurocity rolling stock, followed by ICE 1 and ICE 2 trains by 2025.

2013年4月14日 · I hope the CAHSR project uses these trains. They look quite cool and futuristic. I am not sure when DB will use these train but it will be later in this decade or the next.
