On Windows and Linux HP ProLiant systems, I make use of the hpasmcli or hplog command-line tools to replay/examine the system's Integrated Management Log (IML). It's essentially the server's event log. This is also available in the ILO interface.

If I look in the Integrated Management Logs for these servers, the Windows server has a 'Caution' entry announcing the Predictive Failure, but the OEL server does not have the same. We have some existing business process around the IML (ticket integration, reporting, etc.), hence the preference to have these messages there.

2018年3月7日 · Look at the server’s IML log either from the OS or the ILO interface. “hplog -v” It's better to do this from the OS. If you must SSH directly into the ILO, you should really be scripting this. In general, you can access the IML log via SSH interactive CLI and use the show /system1/log1/recordn command, where "n" is the record number in IML.

The only hting i found is that these affected servers have IPtables enabled on them and seem to have high packet rejections..thats all i seem to see in their logs ie system logs /var/log/messages.High volumes of packet rejections in log files because IP tables is turned on

Your best bet is to examine the HP Integrated Management Log (IML) of the server. You can do this through the ILO 2 interface. Log onto the ILO, check the hardware system status tab. That main summary screen will probably tell you what's wrong. Additionally, take a look at the IML option under the "System Status" tab.
