Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is an older protocol that enables real time chat and collaboration. The Zeek project hosted an IRC channel for many years to support development and discussion. Some intruders eventually began using IRC to control botnets, primarily for two reasons.

IRCloggy helps projects communicate by keeping records of their discussions on IRC. The logs can be read on the web frontent or searched for some keywords. Many projects asked to log their IRC channels. You probably already met the bot called ilogger2 on some channel. The logs are updated in realtime.

IRC log sites can sometimes disappear, move or stop logging and are good sources of outlinks, so are worth archiving. When doing IRC archiving, please link to this page for the explanation. Searching for URLs containing strings output by IRC logging software in web search engines helps. If you find new strings, please add them below.
