Many pursue the SSCP first as they work toward getting managerial experience needed to obtain the CISSP. To qualify for the SSCP, candidates must have at least a year of cumulative, paid, full-time work experience in one of the seven domains.

On September 15, 2024, ISC2 will update the SSCP credential exam. These updates are the result of the Job Task Analysis (JTA), which is an analysis of the current content of the credential evaluated by ISC2 members on a triennial cycle. A title change is occurring for Domain 1.

2023年8月25日 · I hold the CISSP certification. I had to take the SSCP certification because I needed it to meet the requirements for a new DOD contract (CSSP-IS). Passed the exam 8/23. I see the wait time for completing the endorsement process is 4-6wks. I thought it would be quicker because I am already a member of (ISC)2, and I have the CISSP.

2023年9月12日 · Some of folks, only needed to be a SSCP as they were going to specialize in other areas. The SSCP was initially developed as an entry level certification and the original intent was to build additional certifications on it such as Firewall, or UNIX or Networking, etc. Through time and management teams, this changed.

An Associate of (ISC)2 is a member of (ISC)2 who has passed any one of six certification exams (CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CAP, CSLLP, or HCISPP) and paid dues to join the organization, but not yet accumulated sufficient work experience to seek endorsement to (ISC)2 for certification.

2017年11月5日 · SSCP is more "down to earth", practical, more technical, CISSP is more abstract and has more focus on processes, law / legalese. If you are already employed for a longer time in the IT/Infosec business and have or aim for a leadership role, given sufficient talent and other resources, I'd go straight for the CISSP.
