2021年8月23日 · Patina is a dignified layer of use or age that adds a certain respectable quality to an item. Some folks take it too far and use it to describe actual faults or breakage. Your broken in leather strap might have some patina. If it's ripped and cracking, that's time to get a new strap.

2022年5月18日 · Try with Corega tabs or something similar for cleaning prostheses. As I mentioned in the other thread, brasso works really well. I also tried lemon juice and denture cleaner and was not happy with the results. Not sure if it’s because of the specific alloy that IWC uses, but brasso worked perfectly. Thanks everyone.

As part of my research for my first IWC, I have been scouring the web for photographs. As the reference I am looking to buy is discontinued, a few examples have started to develop a gentle patina. Tritium has a half life of about 12 years... as it decays the colour develops from a white to a cream, through to yellow (and even orange).

2002年3月27日 · What does an even tropical patina do to an 854 IWC vintage? Ill post photos when it returns from the watchmaker.. But do people thi nk it adds or detracts when the dial becomes a golden creamy honey colour?

2022年3月1日 · After three months, there hasn’t been a ton of patina developed, just a fairly even slightly darker layer that adds some nice character to the bronze. The exception is the crown and pushers, which obviously get a lot more oil from fingers and have gotten a little darker.
