The IZh-43 (ИЖ-43) is a Soviet and Russian double-barreled shotgun. The IZh-43 was designed in the early 1980s, [1] and in October 1985, the first prototypes were presented at the hunting weapons exhibition in Irkutsk. Production of these weapons began in 1986. [2] In 1986, the IZh-43M shotgun was awarded the gold medal at the Leipzig Trade Fair.

Jan 26, 2011 · Last year, I found a 12 bore Baikal IZH 43 in 98%+ condition at a gun show. After a protracted negotiation, I wound up purchasing the gun for an out of the door price of $175.00. Mine has the single trigger (I would have preferred a double trigger model at the time) and selective ejectors (would have preffered extraction only at the time).

Feb 28, 2012 · I have a IJ-58 (SxS, 12ga) and a IZH-43 (20ga, SxS). The 12 ga has a double trigger and is old enough to be marked "Made in the USSR", not a fancy gun but it's never failed me for the 8 odd years I've had it and I've put several thousand rounds thru it.
