В настоящее время на сайте ГНЦ РФ - ИМБП РАН ведутся работы по изменению структуры и оформления.

The IMBP is the leading organization in Russia for conducting fundamental research in the field of space biology and medicine; medical and biological support of crewed space flights; development of methods and means of ensuring safety and life, preserving health and maintaining human performance in extreme conditions.

During 60 years of fruitful work, IBMP RAS has made a significant contribution to the development of new fields of knowledge - space medicine and biology, gravitational biology and physiology.

The Ground-Based Experimental Facility of the IBMP RAS was designed for simulation of the life conditions and crew activities that are maximally close to real spaceships; as well as for support of experiments simulating space mis-sions, including interplanetary ones, with the duration of 500 days or more and crews consisting of 4-6 people.

At the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation - Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SSC RF - IBMP RAS) in the IV quarter of 2007 it is planned to begin ground-based experiment with the duration of 520 days (with the possibility of extension up to 700 days) simulating manned flight to Mars.
