VW's electric family sedan is called the ID.7, but the stylish four-door has been canceled for the U.S. market.

It features two available powertrains, both of which can be configured with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD), in Pro S and Pro S Plus trim levels. Squint, and the VW ID.7 looks a lot like the Arteon, the big, elegant, low, fastback-inspired sedan that the brand should have sold a whole lot more of.

The ID7 is extremely comfortable at a fast cruise - it’s very quiet and relaxing, with the slippery shape of the body meaning wind noise is minimal. It’s definitely as good as a Kia EV6 on the motorway, or even the much more expensive BMW i5. The ID7 claims 386 miles of range according to official test procedures.
