The Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers is the principal national industrial engineering professional society. Membership includes most of the practicing industrial engineers in the country. The UB chapter enables students to participate in the affairs of the Society at a special student membership rate.

UB IISE exists as a student chapter of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers, an organization recognized as the only international association that supports the profession of industrial engineering and promotes an increased awareness of the value of industrial engineers.

IISE exists to further the skills needed to excel as an Industrial Engineer.
