2012年8月1日 · A look at which way the motor turns will tell you which way to have the impeller blades turned. Just place the new impeller on the drive shaft and alingn the keyway and turn the drive shaft the same way as the motor would. Putting a little lube (dish soap) on the impeller helps when putting it back together.

It's not going to affect the engine at all and will be gone after 2 minutes running. It's just a precaution so as not to run the impeller dry momentarily and to make the installation of the impeller into the cup a easy matter.

2014年4月2日 · Re: Grease for impeller? I myself do not see any need to grease an impeller in any way. For one reason, as stated, the pump is fully submerged and DESIGNED to be lubricated by the water. Now, what about if you don't boat for a week, and the motor is pulled out of the water and dries. Do you pull the gearcase and regrease for initial start up?

2007年7月1日 · An impeller should be the first thing you check when an overheat occures, it's a maintenance type item that should be replaced every other year. Like I asked earlier, when was it last changed. Here is a link to a site with some info on changing the impeller.

2012年4月30日 · Re: Won't shift into reverse after impeller replacement The prop will spin freely in neutral only one way in reverse and both ways in forward with clicking sounds I believe. what ever gear your prop is in F, N or R then position your throtle lever to match and fasten the splined coupler, you should be good to go.

I pulled the gearcase off my Evinrude 200 V6 to put in a water pump kit but this is my first experience. Four bolts and the pump housing slid right off driveshaft but the impeller remained firmly in place and won't budge.
