I just heard this today and love, love, love this poem. I am not really a reader, especially poetry, though I do enjoy both and lived through that lens growing up.

I'm not a poet and know nothing about literature. I came here to tell a story when I was left with nowhere to turn and no one could help me. I took my story to the FBI and they told me I was going to die if I didn't leave town running. I left their offices feeling defeated and alone. So I came here and started writing my story through poetry.
