One thing I don't understand in the end of Inglourious Basterds.
He may be aware of the Basterds' plan, but he had no clue what Shosanna was doing. Also, the movie established that the Basterds' unpredictable and barbaric methods had stymied the Nazis for years. Aldo surprised Landa because he expected Aldo to fully obey his chain of command (ironic given that Landa was betraying all of his superior officers).
