2009年5月4日 · I'm installing a new lift and turn bathtub drain. The new drain is packaged with a rubber gasket, and the instructions seem to show that the gasket goes underneath the drain lip (on top of the tub). The old drain had putty in that location. I've cleaned out all the old putty, and I found the ring and gasket underneath the tub intact.

2016年5月13日 · @c_g_lima, the problem with replacing the entire drain pipe all the way to the trap is that I can't seem to access the trap. I tried digging down further, the foundation concrete pretty much closes off at the bottom, I don't seem to have access further down without busting up concrete at the bottom.

2015年6月23日 · We use putty under the the drain flange, which then threads into the waste and overflow fitting below the tub. Sandwiched between the tub and the shoe of the drain, that is where we place the rubber washer. We don't put anything on the threads. The rubber washer winds up being clamped between the tub and the plastic fitting of the drain.

Do not use plumber’s putty to seal between drain and bathtub. Use latex/acrylic sealant or a gasket." So nowhere does it say goop it up with the latex/acrylic sealant so that it seals those two layers.

2016年6月20日 · I can't tell from the picture if the drain location is correct or not. Usually the drain is centered (side to side) at one end the tub. If the Tub is 32 inches wide, allowing some space for the tub ledge and wall build out, I would expect the drain to be about 16 or 17 inches out from the side wall, and 9 to 10 inches from the end wall.

2018年9月14日 · The drain provided is supposed to be installed prior to tub installation and is held in place with a brass nut. All the instructions say is "Final hook up to tub waste can be made using internal treads in Tailpiece (1-1/2 turing 1 1/2-28thd.) or external threads on Tailpiece (1 1/2--11-1/2 NPSM) for appropriate tub fittings."

2010年1月27日 · We had no access either from underneath. He measured, measured and measured the entire bath drain assembly. Soldered it on and then lowered the tub in. He did it and I was amazed. I was able to lift the plywood from under the floor but it was about 3 feet away. We filled the tub and watched it drain from the panel.

2021年5月28日 · Yep pretty much this. It’s always helpful to build the overflow/shoe drain assembly first, temporarily while tub outta place, get all your necessssry measurements then build it up and then drop in tub. Honestly it sucks. I’ve done it many times and it’s still difficult. Especially if cast iron tub.
