The iPAQ is a discontinued line of Pocket PC devices produced from 2000 until 2010. It was first unveiled by Compaq in April 2000. iPAQ included PDA -devices, smartphones and GPS-navigators. A substantial number of devices were outsourced from Taiwanese HTC corporation.

The iPaq 3800 series comes in these model numbers in the U.S.: the 3830, 3835, 3850, 3870 and 3875. Except for three variables, they are all entirely the same. The three variables are the amount of SDRAM the unit comes with, whether the unit support Bluetooth, and the packaging.

The powerful iPAQ 3850 has a 206MHz Intel XScale Processor with 64MB of Memory built in and a Secure Digital (SD) Memory Slot which also accepts MultiMedia Cards (MMC) for memory upgrades of up to 512Mb or up to 12Gb via an optional Compact Flash card jacket.

Soon after the world-wide premiere one more device on the Pocket PC 2002 appeared on the market - it was Compaq iPAQ 3850. Or maybe it is the third one as HP first released two models - Jornada 565 and 568 which differed only in a memory size: 32 MB and 64 MB, respectively.
