Histologically, it may demonstrate areas of varying degrees of dysplasia, low- to intermediate- or high-grade, carcinoma in situ, or invasive, within the same tumor. The characterization of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN) of the pancreas on imaging studies requires an understanding of the histopathological features of this disease.
