2019年7月31日 · Asghar Qandchi, founder of the truck manufacturing company Iran Kaveh, has died at the age of 91 after years of unremitting efforts in the truck and trailers industry in Iran.

Iran Kaveh established ties with Mack in 1963 to produce licensed built trucks including the R. Approximately 60% of the content being Iranian sourced. Specifications and design of the R were modified to be suitable to Iran. [12]

SAIPA Diesel Company, originally branded Iran Kaveh, is an Iranian-based manufacturer of trucks and trailers. The company began operations in 1963 under an exclusive agreement with Mack Trucks to assemble their trucks and various types of trailers. By 1978, the factory was producing a total of 7,512 units. The company started assembling operations since 1968, however, after Islamic Revolution interrupted relations with the USA caused sharp decrease in production so that the manufacture of "Mack" finally ceased in 1983.
