2021年9月27日 · There are many visual guides to assessing spark plugs, including common symptoms and how to remedy them. The material (iridium or whatever) doesn't matter as far as the visual cues here. Iridium matters for wear under normal conditions, it outlasts other materials - that's all it really has going for it.

What I'm talking about here is the ability to pull out a spark plug and tell how the engine at a specific cylinder is running. You can tell a lot by how it looks and it will want to tell you bunches. As such a colder plug may be required. However, a Ford Falcon for example (which also uses a 6 heat range) may have an average operating temperature of 500°C, the addition of LPG is still within the 450 – 870°C operating range and a colder plug may not be required. 2023年1月7日 · Iridium spark plugs should go a very, very long time before showing much wear and tear. Given the modest cost of them, there's no reason not to use them. However, that depends on the fuel injection system and spark system working as the factory intended (which in turn is required to have the smog systems work as intended).

When reading the plug, don't pay as much attention to the bit at the top of the threads. This area is prone to have some minor carbon build up no matter how well the plug is running.
