Not very safe at all especially once winter hits and you’ll be commuting home mainly after sunset. I lived in that area in the late 80s and would live in other parts of the North Bronx but would never live there again. I’ve also never had a problem in the Bronx, but I just mean overall quality of life there is very hard to stomach.

Pelham Parkway was – and probably still is – a neighborhood that people in the Bronx move to once they’ve established themselves some or have become a little bit more middle class.
