And a place where gold is refined. And copper is smelted from ore. For ore in the darkness and the shadow of death. They swing to and fro. And it contains gold dust. Nor has the falcon’s eye seen it. Nor has the fierce lion passed over it. He overturns the mountains at the roots. And his eye sees every precious thing.

It begins with setting forth the sagacity of men in searching and finding out useful metals, and other things the earth produces; the difficulty, fatigue, and labour, that attend such a search, and the dangers they are exposed unto in it, Job 28:1-11; then it declares the unsearchableness of wisdom, its superior excellency to things the most ...

Job 28:1-11 describes humanity's ability to discover and extract precious resources from the earth, highlighting human ingenuity and effort. Yet, despite these achievements, wisdom remains beyond human grasp. In verses 12-19, Job emphasizes that wisdom cannot be bought with gold or silver, nor can it be valued in terms of precious stones.
