J-7I: Improved J-7 with an additional gun added on the portside at the cost of 100 liters of fuel. A variable intake nosecone replaced the three-stage fixed unit on J-7, and featured a thicker intake wall. A CL-2 ranging radar with 5 km of range replaced the earlier CL radar on J-7.

The Chengdu J-7 (Chinese: 歼-7; third generation export version F-7; NATO reporting name: Fishcan[1]) is a Chinese fighter aircraft. It is a license-built version of the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21, and thus shares many similarities with that aircraft. [2] .

2022年9月14日 · The J-7I was an improved J-7 now handled by Chendgu and revealed in the 1970s. A variable intake was installed over the fixed type of the original and 2 x 30mm guns completed the standard armament installation. This then led to the improved J-7I("modified") with improved hydraulics (a definitive problem area of earlier mounts).
