The Great Eastern Railway (GER) Class Y14 is a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotive. The LNER classified them J15. The Class Y14 was designed by T.W. Worsdell for both freight and passenger duties - a veritable 'maid of all work'.

T.W. Worsdell designed the GER Class Y14 (LNER J15) to solve the resulting sudden shortage of suitable freight locomotives. The first J15s were built in July 1883, and they would go on to become the most numerous of GER locomotive types with a total of 259 built in 27 batches.

The GS&WR Class 101, classified as Class 101 or Class J15 by the Great Southern Railways, was a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotives designed for working goods traffic although they did, and were quite capable of, working branch and secondary passenger trains.

65462 was built in February 1912 at Stratford Works as GER 564. It was one of the penultimate batch of ten and had a Macallan variable blastpipe, dual-brakes and steam heating fitted during construction. It spent most of its working life in Norfolk and Suffolk. In 1922 and 1936 it was allocated to Norwich Thorpe and also spent time at Yarmouth.

Interestingly GS&WR locomotives may have been the basis of the J15 class introduced by TW Worsdell on the Great Eastern Railway in England in 1883. There were still 96 of the locomotives in service by 1948 by which time they were owned by Córas Iompair Éireann (CIÉ) following the Transport Act of 1944.

Ex-GER/LNER J15 0-6-0 65450 at Long Melford station, on an overcast day in August 1959. The loco had entered service in 1906, and was withdrawn in October 1961, and scrapped in November. One member of the class has been preserved..
