J39 64858 and its brake van are waiting for the road in the platform whilst Class 24 D5109 is arriving on the 11.45 Leeds City to Newcastle via York and Sunderland. 64858 was a Sunderland (52g) loco at this time and had been new to the LNER as 1478 is November 1934 who renumbered her as 4858 in 1946.
