2016年4月19日 · My Dr told me after blood test results that my red blood cells were high after noticing results from 6 months+ of results. Dr referred me to Haematologist who did JAK2 test and came back positive.

2016年11月21日 · Hematocrit was 50.3 I just had blood pulled 7 weeks ago. . . . This is the highest it has ever been in the 10yrs I've been doing this. Hematocrit was 16.7. I have to go in Monday afternoon to have blood pulled. I also had them Redo the JAK2 test since my Oncologist can't seem to find my results from the last one in my records.

I remember when we got the results from a regular blood test I had done as I had realized I never got blood work done before, the results showed I had 3-4 times of what a normal person's platelet count is.

My test also came back negative. I don't know that he ruled PV out, but he doesn't seem to think that it's very likely after the blood test for JAK2. Seems he's chasing secondary possibilities now, such as smoking, sleep apnea, etc. My HCT seems to be holding pretty good since my last letting a few weeks ago.

2016年3月23日 · Hi thauseef. I too am jak2 positive. It means that we have polycythemia Vera. Those who are not jak2 positive are called Polycythemia rubra Vera. If we have high red counts, we are then tested for Polycythemia Vera. My red count is still high, but my meds, Hydroxyurea controls it and also acts as a blood thinner.
