2010年1月15日 · All my cabinets are push-pull slot-loaded (PPSL) which has less bass distortion than shorting rings do, and no shorting rings to work loose and destroy the woofer (as has been known to do on JBL). My drivers are a custom design built for me by Eminence, and they cost about 1/6th what a 2226 sold for.

2017年1月22日 · Can I use these JBL enclosure 8 cu.ft. plans # 10 which uses 2 15" woofers JBL 2226 which I just bought 4 from eBay and being reconed as we speak? Basically I will be using these as a 3 way DJ system with a separate DIY top 10" mid horn and a 1" B&C ME 45 horn DE250 in another trap cab, or a suggested neo 1".

2009年6月10日 · I would not run JBL 2226 drivers past 700Hz myself but I know others do. This is where the TD series drivers from aespeakers.com are superior. The TD15M is a superior driver if sensitivity isn't the top priority. The recent TD group buy was a great time for anyone to buy TD15Ms at almost 1/2 the price of JBL 2226s.

2016年5月24日 · JBL Pro has a subwoofer that uses this driver (http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/installed-sound/pd6000-series/pd5125#.V0bmdMspCBY) BUT it is tuned to 40 Hz (which would be a MBM in AVS-land). Start at 18 Hz like you modeled, then swap ports upwards in tuning until you get the extension and sound quality you are looking for.

2012年1月4日 · I'm looking forward to crossing the 2226's higher but I need to build the 2nd unit so everything isn't mono below 200/300hz. Sealing the 8340's sounds like a good idea too. I tried that last week just to see how they'd sound (without the 2226) but the extension went out the window and they sounded anemic.

2014年3月21日 · The JBL 2226H is one of my all-time favorite midwoofers. And it is capable of producing subwoofer output too, but it is not optimized for that purpose. Most of the things that make it great - its motor structure with shorting rings, it's highly damped cone, it's efficiency - all work best above 50Hz.
